The Host

THE HOST

Jeff has an incredibly unlikely story of making it in the world of entertainment. Originally from Iowa City, IA, Jeff Houghton is a 4 time Emmy Award winning television host. He's also a speaker, writer, and creative director. Jeff hosts The Mystery Hour, a late night talk show he started in a basement improv theatre in Springfield, MO. The Mystery Hour recently wrapped after 10 seasons on FOX, ABC, NBC, and CW affiliates across the country. His story of perseverance, hope and community is a story he loves to share with people as a speaker told in both a funny and heartfelt way.

Jeff worked for the Late Show with David Letterman and more recently helped to create and star in the viral hit, "Instagram Husband," which now has 60 million views, was covered by the media worldwide, and along the way coined a new phrase. Jeff works with brands to create both humorous and meaningful videos as creative director for The Writers' Room Creative Comedy Agency. In that role, Jeff has been nominated for a Webby Award, and received a Silver Telly Award. Jeff has also been hired to work as talent in a variety of videos and commercials.

Jeff has worked with brands like Walmart, Boeing, 7-Eleven, Fossil, H&R Block, Nestle, Canada Goose, Hellmann's, Virgin Mobile, Bass Pro Shops, Aflac, and much more.

Jeff travels nationally and internationally hosting and speaking at events for companies and organizations. He has performed stand up at the Comedy Store, and trained at the Upright Citizen's Brigade. Jeff was a member of The Skinny Improv mainstage cast for several years where he performed at the home theatre every weekend and traveled the country performing improv.
